What is PayID?

Making and receiving payments is quicker and easier than ever using PayID. It’s part of the New Payments Platform which lets you make Fast Payments using your NAB app, NAB Internet Banking or NAB Connect.

Your PayID is like a nickname for your account. It’s a unique identifier linked to your transaction account and can be your email address, mobile number or ABN. All you need is a PayID to send and receive funds almost instantly.

It isn’t compulsory to have a PayID. You can still use a BSB and account number to send and receive Fast Payments. Visit the official PayID website to learn more.

The benefits of using PayID

Fast payments

Send and receive PayID payments within 60 seconds in most instances – even if the sender banks with another financial institution (as long as they offer the PayID service).

Ditch the BSB and account number and send payments using something simple like a phone number, email or ABN with the comfort of knowing it's going to the right person.

Create or change your unique PayID in just a few easy steps by logging into NAB Internet Banking or the NAB app.

Reduce mistaken payments

PayID provides confirmations to the owner of the PayID before a payment, and you can save their details in the NAB app. So, you know you’re paying the right person, every time.

Get rid of vague payment descriptions with up to 280 characters of space to name the transaction.
